Duality
The human body you are experiencing observes the physical world it perceives and becomes fixated by it. {more} Whereas, you are in the Astral World, but initially, rarely noticing this fact. As you do begin to notice where you actually are, it becomes obvious that you are indeed experiencing a duality; i.e. apparently being in 2 places at once.

Noticing The Astral World
People generally perceive this to be Astral Projection. The perception is that you project your earthly consciousness into another dimension. For convenience will use the expression Astral Projection for the time being. However, it is important to remember that all you are really doing is setting aside the compelling impression of being alive on Earth, and noticing where you actually are. This is initially difficult because the Earthly impressions appear very powerful, whilst the Astral World appears subtle and at first often imperceptible.

Why The Astral World Is Initially Difficult To See
If you were placed in a very dark room and asked what you could see, you answer would be "not much”. Your human mind tends to interpret darkness as being nothingness. The Astral World has both brighter and darker regions. You are mostly focused in a darker region, so if you try to look at it, this is initially difficult. When we you take you through basic training exercise, the reality of this soon becomes obvious. Once you have been taught to reliably navigate between brighter and darker levels, you will find that you had been correctly perceiving the darkness to begin with.

Where Are You ?
For the time being the best way to advance your understanding is as follows:
You are an amazing all powerful super-consciousness, often referred to as "God”.
In order to ‘look back and see yourself’, you have created some manifestations which allow you to see yourself (such as human beings).
You are experiencing being one of these creations.
This creation is presently focused in the Astral World, at a location where an illusion of being alive on Earth is created.
From this location you potentially have a very good view of yourself, thought most of the time your manifestation does not bother to do so.

What Is Going On
Contrary to what the human mind might perceive, you are experiencing an illusion processing device (human from) which gives you the compelling impression that you are a human being. Because you initially have no recollection of how you got there, you similarly begin with no memory of even wanting to experience the human world. In order to get your human form to ‘wake up’, you have given it a series of challenges it cannot solve unless it notices the real you. Meanwhile the human form has the option to delay noticing the real you and what is actually occurring.
